15,000 jobs to go if Qwest/MCI gets green light | The Register
It isn't tough to find news stories similar to this, if you look. People are losing jobs and companies are cutting back pretty often these days.
Whenever I read a story like this, I wonder how many people have a backup plan. I'm willing to bet that at least a decent percentage was offered a home based business such as Cognigen in the past.
Why did they turn it down? Most likely, they either thought they were safe or thought they didn't have time to build a business. I have no idea about the time part but Robert Kiyosaki said that the riskiest thing is to depend on a job. It's much riskier than building a business.
